Computers are used in designing almost everything these days. Buildings, electronic circuitry, a host of industrial products; the list goes on. A key role is played by the use of Computer Aided Design (or CAD as it is commonly known).
The skills required mean that a college degree is desirable to make a good career in the field of CAD, and while the exact program will vary, depending on the area you choose to specialize in, you will learn about the use of CAD packages for general design, and two and three dimensional modeling.
In the world of drafting and design in general the future belongs to those trained in CAD.
