Training to be an LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – takes about one year full time. You will learn the principles of nursing, including patient care, drug administration, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and other areas of medical knowledge. Your training will take place both in the classroom and in practical situations, allowing you to become confident in your work before you have to take on responsibility for the job.
When you qualify as an LPN you will work in a hospital or clinic, doing day to day nursing and care of your patients. You will work to a registered nurse or a physician, carrying out their instructions with the confidence of your training. This is a good and worthwhile career, so take a look at LPN courses.
