As it becomes more expensive to employ lawyers, much of their work becomes more specialized. This leaves the administrational and organizational work of the law firm to other trained people, one of whom is the legal office assistant. It is their work to make sure that the office is organized, that the administration tasks of the company are carried out, and that the lawyers have the support and resources they need.

If you are interested in this career, you should be trained in the administration skills that you will need. You will also need background information about the legal industry, the terminology used and a good framework of how a legal practice works.
