The nurse paralegal combines the substantial medical knowledge learned while preparing for a nursing career with basic legal training. Law offices that deal with medical malpractice or personal injury lawsuits may employ nurse paralegals to research and gather the necessary pages of evidence required to pursue these cases. Government offices and insurance companies use nurse paralegals to do research, write legal documents and assist attorneys in a wide variety of cases.
