As the baby boomer population ages, the demand for CNAs and certified nurse's aides is expected to increase. If you are compassionate, patient, and warm-hearted, you will find that this rewarding profession offers opportunities ranging from hospitals, clinics and nursing homes to flexible and independent private duty work through agencies.

As certified nursing assistant, you will be expected to escort patients to and from treatments, provide direct patient care with dressing, meals, and bathing, and assist doctors and nurses. Your coursework should include CPR as well as an introduction to principles of health and disease, antiseptic practices, and safety in lifting and transporting frail and disabled persons.
