The nursing LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) credential opens the door to a rewarding, hands on career in health care. The LPN provides the round-the-clock, immediate care that patients need. They carry out the treatment plans prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients’ progress through the entire healing process. LPNs may work in hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, nursing facilities or right in the patient’s home. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will bring comfort and education about health issues such as nutrition, to patients and their families. You’ll take patients’ vital signs, administer medicines, supervise nursing aides, and give basic bedside care.
