You can join a profession that assists these people, and the numerous tragic victims of war and terror, to live independent and satisfying lives. Orthotics concentrates on the design and manufacture of braces and supports for people with disabling conditions in their limbs or spines. Prosthetics is the field that provides artificial limbs. As a trained technician in these two related fields, you will assist a certified professional to measure and design devices for specific needs and you will repair and refit a variety of assistive devices.
