The pharmacy technician is the licensed pharmacist’s right hand. The technician assists in preparing prescriptions, mixing special compounds and in monitoring the dispensing of a wide variety of drugs. The pharmacy technician takes care of stocking, ordering and packaging medications, keeping track of drug changes and maintaining inventories. As a pharmacy technician, you’ll learn basic chemistry, pharmaceutical terminology, pharmacy record keeping and the preparation of prescription and non-prescriptions medicines.
