A Sun Certified Java Programmer is someone who has learned computer programming using the Java language, and has completed the Sun certification process. Sun is a large hi-tech company that specializes in creating hardware and computer applications. Because they create so many applications using the java language, they came up with a certification program that teaches students how to program in java in a specific way. This means that if someone goes through Sun’s certification process, they should program using the same methods and techniques as the programmers working for Sun. This is important because many other hi-tech companies build software that work on Sun products, and thus has to have compatible programming architectures.
