If computers are the lifeblood of today's business, networking and telecommunications are the arteries. If you enjoy working with dynamic and complex systems, a telecommunications course is for you. Most courses will cover networking concepts, including the tcp/ip standard, topologies, and connectivity standards such as Category 5 and Category 6.

You will probably learn network planning, troubleshooting, and installation. Telephony switches, satellite communications, and PSTN equipment may also be covered. Telecommunications courses will cover the principles and protocols underlying integrated voice, data, and video environments.
