Vocational education is different from a liberal arts education. A liberal arts education generally takes a minimum of four years to complete, and it doesn’t necessarily teach a student specific skills needed in the job market. A liberal arts education is generally designed to teach a student how to think more analytically, solve complex problems, and get used to heavier workloads. These goals tend to help a student transition into the job market. A vocational education is generally more geared towards teaching students the exact skills they will need at future jobs. Vocational educations tend to be a bit shorter, typically lasting two years.
